HISTORY

WIMA was started by
Louise Sherbyn, wife of a U.S. Serviceman
in 1950. Pictured above is Shirley, one of
the earliest GB members. Divisions were
gradually started all over the world. Our
members range from those who joined....
some time ago, to bright young things on
modern motor bicycles who take part in....

...ACTIVITIES

ranging from track
days to camping weekends, rides out
pub lunches, cream teas, shows and
rallies. We are a National club and there
are not local groups in all areas, but
new groups are often started; it takes
only a few members in any area. Where
WIMA is unique is that you can make friends all over GB with biking women....

...and MEN?

many of our men come
along on runs & events & support us.
WIMA is for all women, marrried,
single, gay or straight. We're not
campaigners and we're not anti men.
We're just continuing 50+years of
tradition in having our own corner of
motorcycling where we can talk about
our biking experiences...

.
which range from the everyday run

to extraordinary adventures....

it's all about riding bikes

and making friends.

Benefits of membership include a list of recommended businesses in a WIMA handbook, some of which give discounts to members.

The printed monthly newsletter is posted to all members and contains announcements, plus reports and photos sent in by members .

There is also a Community web site exclusively for WIMA members to post messages, meet and greet and pass on information.
